Vitaiso — PS Vita Models Guide | vitaiso.net
The common platform behind both handhelds and the TV variant: a 960 x 544 screen, dual analog sticks, touch controls and a digital library.
Every Vita-family device sits on the same platform. The two handhelds share a 5-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 960 x 544 pixels, and the PlayStation TV plays the same library on a television.
The second analog stick is the feature that marked the Vita's key upgrade over the PSP. It is present across the handheld line and is one of the reasons the platform's controls feel different from its predecessor.
Touch controls are part of the shared design as well, built around the 5-inch 960 x 544 touchscreen on both handhelds. The TV-based variant changes where you play, not which games exist.
On narrow screens, swipe or scroll the plate sideways.
Wireless features are consistent across the handhelds: both carry Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1. The PCH-1000 3G variant adds a cellular radio on top of that, but the base wireless set is the same.
Because the platform is shared, a buyer's real decision is about form factor and panel: OLED and a thicker body on the PCH-1000, LCD and a lighter body with micro-USB on the PCH-2000, or a television setup with the PlayStation TV.
Performance is identical across the handhelds. The PCH-2000 is not more powerful than the PCH-1000, and both run the same games at the same performance.
